I joined CrossFit 2311 because I wanted to be active again and get back into shape. I knew several people from work who were going to CrossFit 2311, and they all raved about it. I was also reassured to know that the owner (Dr.Eric Yarrington) was a local Physical Therapist, which definitely eased some concerns about possible injury.
The gym gave me a great first impression. I was comfortably eased into the CrossFit environment with a month of On Ramp, where Coaches Eric and Shannon were informative about the basics of CrossFit including proper weight lifting technique, safety measures and how to get the results you desire. It was awesome to feel capable and welcomed without judgement. I’m happy to say that during my several months at CrossFit, the only thing that has changed is my attitude towards working out. I’m more confident in my level of fitness and greatly look forward to working out with fun, encouraging people on a regular basis.
I’m sitll working on becoming more toned and staying generally healthy and feeling good.
My greatest acheivement is losing 12 lbs since starting CrossFit and keeping the weight off!
Favorite memory: After a Saturday WOD before starting the Paleo Challenge everyone stayed after for food and beer. It was a great way to end a good work out and make new friends.
