I had been interested in CrossFit for about two years before I walked through the door. I had a family member tell me that he gets sick and almost passes out during the workouts. I should have never listened to him. I was a competitive swimmer and dancer when I was younger so I have always enjoyed pushing myself. A good friend told me that anyone can do CrossFit and that I should give it a try. I am so happy
My brother Eric first brought CrossFit to my attention years ago. He showed a huge passion for wanting to open a box in Waynesville. After a few years, he and his wife Shannon made it happen.
My first impression was that CrossFit leaves no stone unturned. Meaning, you truly get an exercise experience that covers your entire body and well as your mind.
Right now I’m working towards getting to more classes more frequently. Like any act
I was introduced to CrossFit 2311 by my good friend Abbie Wilkins, who had been a member for quite some time. My first impression was that this looked way too hard for me to do. Now that I have been CrossFitting for a bit, I realize that I CAN do this! I scale when needed and keep pushing myself. Right now I am working hard on pull-ups. We do a lot of them and I want to do regular or kipping pull-ups consistenly. So far, m
I have always loved to exercise. In October 2011, I was in a four wheeler accident. I ended up breaking my collarbone (which needed surgery), hairline fracturing my tibia, and re-breaking my elbow (which was already in a cast). Throughout my recovery I fell into a state of depression because I was no longer able to participate in sport/any physical activity. My doctor had told me that I might not ever re-gain the strength, or range of motion in m
What brought you to CrossFit?
The practical answer is that my wife attended an On-Ramp session and I thought if she can do it so can I, but I’m not sure that sums up why I decided to try CrossFit. I came to CrossFit 2311 because I thought it was the next thing that I should try.
I spent a long time dormant, not exercising or taking care of myself. Then in April of 2013 I realized that I had gained a lot of weight over the past decade or
Because I was work in the fitness industry I had heard about CrossFit for awhile. I knew a couple of people who had tried it and liked it. Always searching for the next fun workout, I decided to try it.
My first impression was that it was going to be easy. I have taught fitness classes for over 20 years and couldn’t imagine that I would see or hear anything really new to me. Boy was I wrong! That first on ramp
A long-time, good friend(Kalyn) told us about CrossFit and challenged us to try it. At the time, we honestly had never heard of crossfit and had no idea what is was, but we loved the idea of having a way to exercise together, as a couple. We were in the 2nd On-Ramp class and have never looked back!
My first impression was, WOW!! I will never be able to do this! It was truly "THE HARDEST PHYSICAL WORK" I had ever done. I had trained for a
I got started at CrossFit 2311 because I simply got tired of going to the fitness center and seeing no progress. I felt like I was a "hamster on a wheel" going nowhere. It was boring too!
I had just checked out another box and was ready to sign up there, but a friend suggested we check out 2311; it was just opening. I was in awe...something about this place just felt right. I am the type of person to go with my gut i
What brought you to CrossFit?
I was privileged to be one of the founding members in June of 2013. My good friend Jay Clarke (CrossFit Instructor at CF Blue Ridge) had been advertising by example for years and has been a great, positive advocate of CrossFit. He encouraged my wife and I to join as soon as CF2311 opened in Waynesville.
What was your first impression? How has that changed?
I have been super impressed with CF2311 from day o
My wife Jill joined CrossFit 2311 and was having a great time and seeing results. She convinced me to come.
My first impression was that CrossFit was way out of my comfort zone. I had been use to lifting by myself and doing my own routine. I don't think I could go back to the same type of workout now that I've been attending Crossfit2311.
What are you working on now? I am working hard at improving my technique and getting in all of the var
